DNA is a powerful crime fighting tool. In April, Edmond police found a hammer at the scene of a break in at a convenience store where more than five thousand dollars of cigarettes were stolen. Crime scene technicians found DNA on the hammer and used it to locate a suspect. The store owner says the incident forced him to invest in a new security system and had metal bars installed to prevent thieves from returning.
