Inola school bond recount scheduled in Rogers County

An Inola school bond recount is set following a razor-thin election result earlier this month.

According to FOX23, the Rogers County Election Board will conduct a recount for Inola Public Schools Proposition 2 on Friday, April 17.

The recount will begin at 9:00 a.m. at the Rogers County Courthouse.

The measure originally passed in the April 7 election with just over the required 60% supermajority.

Officials say the recount will ensure accuracy and transparency in the final certified results.

Inola school bond recount could change outcome

The Inola school bond recount could potentially impact the final outcome of the $29.9 million proposal.

Officials say the margin is extremely narrow, with the result sitting right at the 60% threshold required under Oklahoma law.

That means even a small number of corrected ballots—possibly as few as two votes—could change whether the measure officially passes.

Election procedures and recount standards are typically guided by the Oklahoma State Election Board, which oversees election integrity statewide.

Officials say every vote will be carefully reviewed during the recount process.

Bond funding tied to school improvements and safety

If upheld, the Inola school bond recount would confirm funding for several major district improvements.

Plans include building at least 10 new classrooms and a new cafeteria that would also serve as a storm shelter.

The proposal also includes HVAC upgrades and renovations to existing school facilities.

School infrastructure standards and safety planning are often supported by the Oklahoma State Department of Education, which helps guide district improvements.

Leaders say the upgrades are aimed at improving both safety and learning environments.

Recount follows multiple bond attempts by district

The Inola school bond recount comes after multiple attempts by the district to pass similar funding measures.

This was the third effort to secure voter approval for the bond package.

While Proposition 1 also passed in the April 7 election, only Proposition 2 is currently under review.

Officials say final certified results will be released after the recount is completed.

The outcome will determine whether the district can move forward with construction and facility upgrades.
