Davis Axe Attack Sends Child to Hospital, Man Jailed

A violent Davis axe attack has left a child injured and a man behind bars, as authorities investigate what police describe as a domestic dispute that escalated into a dangerous assault involving a weapon.

According to investigators, Shawn Day of Davis was arrested after allegedly attacking a child with an axe during an argument last month. Police say the confrontation began as a dispute between Day and his girlfriend, before turning violent when the woman’s son attempted to intervene.

Davis Axe Attack Involved Domestic Dispute

Court records show that during the argument, the child stepped in to try to de-escalate the situation. Investigators allege Day initially choked the child, prompting the boy to strike Day and flee the area for safety. Authorities say the situation escalated further when Day armed himself with an axe and pursued the child.

Police reports indicate the child was struck in the face with the axe, causing serious injuries. The victim was transported for medical treatment and is expected to recover. Officers later located and arrested Day without incident.

Davis Axe Attack Under Active Investigation

The Davis Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the Davis axe attack, including whether additional charges may be filed. Because the victim is a minor, investigators say limited details can be released at this stage.

Authorities say the case will be reviewed by prosecutors, with potential felony charges considered. The incident highlights ongoing concerns from law enforcement about domestic disputes escalating into life-threatening situations involving weapons.

Police urge anyone experiencing domestic violence or witnessing escalating behavior to contact authorities immediately. Information on resources and reporting options can be found through the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation and local law enforcement agencies.
