Chesapeake Energy will have a new name as it merges with Southwestern Energy Company. The company will be rebranded as Expand Energy. The merger is expected to close in the first week of October. After the merger, the combined company will be the largest natural gas producer in the U.S. It will commence public trading on the NASDAQ under the ticker symbol "EXE" the day after closing.
