A bill providing an income tax credit for employees involved in a massive layoff is advanced by a House committee. Sponsor Tammy Townley of Ardmore says it goes to help those having to drive to new jobs in the state.

The bill has an estimated financial impact of 20 million dollars. Up to seven million will be provided to employees and 13 million dollars will be offered to employers who find jobs for those laid off. More negotiation is expected on this bill, which could help those losing their jobs at the Michelin Plant in Ardmore.
