Popular Rice Brand Issues Nationwide Recall
OKLAHOMA CITY — Consumers in Oklahoma are urged to check their pantries following a nationwide recall of Ben’s Original rice products due to the potential presence of small stones in certain packages.
The recall includes several varieties — Long Grain White Rice, Whole Grain Brown Rice, and Long Grain & Wild Rice — all with “best by” dates of August 2026.
Products Sold at Target and Amazon
The affected products were distributed through major retailers including Target and Amazon, and have been confirmed for sale in Oklahoma.
Ben’s Original, formerly known as Uncle Ben’s, said the recall was voluntary and initiated out of an abundance of caution after multiple consumer reports.
No Injuries Reported, but Caution Urged
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) confirmed no serious injuries have been reported. However, consumers who purchased the affected products should not eat them and can return packages for a refund.
Retailers have been directed to remove the products from shelves, and the company is conducting a complete supply chain review to ensure safety measures are followed.
Oklahoma health officials are working with federal agencies to monitor the recall’s local impact and ensure stores comply with the directive.
