Charges Upgraded After Surveillance Video Review

U.S. Marshals are now searching for Uriel Cazares-Vega, a man accused of killing his girlfriend in Jenks, after prosecutors upgraded charges from manslaughter to murder.

Authorities say Cazares-Vega failed to appear in court Monday, prompting a warrant for his arrest and a regional manhunt.

Surveillance Video Shows Vehicle Accelerating

According to Jenks Police, surveillance video captured the moments leading up to the woman’s death. Investigators say the footage shows Cazares-Vega speeding up, striking the victim with his vehicle, and dragging her.

Police say the incident occurred last week and resulted in the woman’s death at the scene.

First Homicide in Jenks in Four Years

The killing marks the first homicide in Jenks in four years, underscoring the seriousness of the case for a city that typically sees low violent-crime rates.

Authorities have not released additional details about the relationship between the suspect and victim beyond confirming they were romantically involved.

Public Asked to Help Locate Suspect

U.S. Marshals urge anyone with information on Cazares-Vega’s whereabouts to contact law enforcement immediately. Police caution the public not to approach the suspect if spotted.
