Tulsa Warehouse Fire Under Investigation
Firefighters with the Tulsa Fire Department are investigating the cause of a Tulsa warehouse fire that broke out late Monday night.
Crews were dispatched just after 10 p.m. to a building near East Pine Street and North Lewis Avenue, close to the University of Tulsa north campus.
When firefighters arrived, they encountered heavy flames coming from part of the warehouse and initially had difficulty accessing areas of the structure because some doors were locked.
Hazmat Concern During Tulsa Warehouse Fire
During the response to the Tulsa warehouse fire, firefighters noticed an oily substance on some of their gear.
The discovery prompted crews to temporarily evacuate the building while a hazardous materials team was called to the scene by the Tulsa Fire Department.
Officials later determined the substance was not hazardous, allowing firefighters to resume operations inside the building.
Fire Contained With No Injuries
Firefighters were able to bring the Tulsa warehouse fire under control in just over an hour.
Authorities say no injuries were reported and no one was found inside the building.
Investigators from the Tulsa Fire Department are continuing to examine the scene as part of the ongoing investigation with support from the City of Tulsa.
