A legislative effort is underway to exempt the three-member Oklahoma Corporation Commission from the state Open Meetings Act.
Tulsa Representative Tammy Townley is pushing the bill as it goes to a House committee hearing on Wednesday. Under her plan, the three commissioners would not have to hold a public meeting for matters such as administrative discussions with staff, public statements, or staffing needs as long as no vote is taken.
