Tulsa, OK-150 Guns Seized in Crackdown

Tulsa’s police chief has long warned that parts of the city resemble the “Wild West” when it comes to violent crime. Now, a special enforcement effort is showing results: more than 150 illegal firearms have been seized from the streets.

Tulsa will Focus on Nights and Weekends

Police say the effort will continue, with special attention to evenings and weekends when violent crime is most likely to occur. By targeting high-risk areas, officers aim to prevent shootings before they happen.

Downtown Curfew Helps Reduce Violence

Officials also credit a new downtown curfew with reducing incidents in Tulsa’s busiest entertainment districts. Police say the combined strategy of patrols and curfews has already made an impact.

“We’re not letting up. This is about keeping our neighborhoods safe,” the police chief said.
