Trump Oklahoma Rally Set for Durant With Gubernatorial Nominee Mike Mazzei
President Donald Trump is scheduled to travel to Oklahoma next week for a Midterm Rally alongside Republican gubernatorial nominee Mike Mazzei, bringing a presidential campaign event to Durant just over a month before Oklahoma voters choose their next governor.
The Trump Oklahoma rally is scheduled for Thursday, October 1, at the Choctaw Event Center in Durant. Doors are expected to open at 2 p.m., with the program beginning at 6 p.m. The event comes as Mazzei campaigns against Democratic nominee Cyndi Munson ahead of the November 3 general election.
Trump Oklahoma Rally Scheduled at Choctaw Event Center
The rally will be held at the Choctaw Event Center, 3702 Choctaw Road in Durant, in southeastern Oklahoma.
Admission is free, but attendees are required to register for tickets in advance. Reservations are limited to four tickets per registration and are available through the Republican Party’s official GOP Events registration site.
Trump has backed Mazzei during the 2026 Oklahoma governor’s race, including through the Republican primary and the August 25 runoff.
Mazzei advanced to the runoff after finishing behind Attorney General Gentner Drummond in the June Republican primary. He then defeated Drummond in the August runoff to secure the Republican nomination.
Munson, the Oklahoma House minority leader, won the Democratic nomination during the June primary and did not face an August runoff.
The October 1 appearance gives Mazzei another opportunity to campaign alongside Trump as the gubernatorial contest moves into its final weeks.
Mazzei and Munson Head Toward November 3 Election
Oklahoma voters will decide the governor’s race during the November 3, 2026 general election.
The Oklahoma State Election Board’s 2026 election calendar confirms the statewide general election is scheduled for November 3. The deadline to register to vote is October 9, while the deadline to request an absentee ballot is October 19.
Early voting is scheduled for October 28 through October 31.
The general election follows a competitive Republican nomination process that extended through the August runoff.
Trump’s endorsement became a prominent issue during that Republican contest. Mazzei repeatedly highlighted the president’s support while campaigning against Drummond, including during the weeks between the primary and runoff.
Munson, meanwhile, secured her party’s nomination outright in June and has been campaigning for the general election since then.
Oklahoma voters can use the State Election Board’s OK Voter Portal to verify registration, locate polling places, request absentee ballots and eventually view sample ballots for their precinct.
Durant Rally Conflicts With Scheduled OETA Debate
The timing of the Trump Oklahoma rally also creates a scheduling conflict for the gubernatorial campaign.
Mazzei and Munson had previously been scheduled to participate in a televised OETA debate on October 1, the same evening Trump is scheduled to appear with Mazzei in Durant.
As of Friday, it remained unclear whether the debate would be rescheduled, proceed without Mazzei or undergo another change because of the rally.
OETA is providing statewide political coverage through its Oklahoma Votes 2026 programming, including coverage of the governor’s race and other contests on the November ballot.
The Durant event places the presidential appearance in southeastern Oklahoma, approximately one month before Election Day and just eight days before the state’s voter registration deadline.
For the Mazzei campaign, it will bring one of its most prominent national supporters to Oklahoma during the general election campaign. For voters, the next several weeks will include campaign events, candidate appearances and election coverage leading into early voting and the November 3 general election.
