Thunder Clinch Playoff Spot Behind SGA’s 40
The Oklahoma City Thunder are headed to the playoffs.
Behind a dominant 40-point performance from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the Thunder defeated the Orlando Magic 113-108, officially becoming the first team to clinch a spot in the 2026 NBA Playoffs.
SGA finished 14-of-27 from the field and extended his streak to 129 consecutive games with at least 20 points, continuing his record-setting run.
Caruso’s “Shoe Block” Steals the Show
Despite the milestone night, the biggest moment came from Alex Caruso.
Late in the second quarter, Caruso lost his shoe on defense—but instead of stopping, he grabbed it and used it to swat a layup attempt by Orlando’s Tristan da Silva.
The crowd reacted instantly, but officials quickly stepped in.

The play resulted in:
A technical foul for using a foreign object
A goaltending call, awarding the basket to Orlando
Even so, the moment immediately went viral and became the highlight of the night.
Thunder Rolling Into Brooklyn
The Oklahoma City Thunder now sit at 54-15 and have won 10 straight games.
They’ll look to keep that momentum going tonight on the road against the Brooklyn Nets.
