The Heartland Flyer has secured needed funding

It looks like the Heartland Flyer has secured funding to continue for an additional year. The only passenger rail service in Oklahoma was scheduled to end service this October. On Thursday the North Central Texas Council of Governments’ Regional Transportation Council voted to put three point five million in regional toll revenue to fund the rail service. In 2024 the rail service carried 82 thousand passengers.
