State Human Services are urging Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (known as SNAP) users to change their personal identification numbers immediately due to a significant increase in skimmer fraud. Michael Adams, special agent in charge, says this month has been a record for stolen SNAP benefits with more than 10 thousand cases reported. Investigators found nine skimmers last weekend, but they are difficult to detect.
