Stillwater Dental Assistant Pleads Guilty in Sexual Assault Case Involving Sedated Patients

A Stillwater dental assistant sexual assault case is moving closer to sentencing as a former clinic employee prepares to plead guilty to dozens of felony charges involving sedated patients, including children.

Stillwater Dental Assistant Sexual Assault Investigation Details

According to the Stillwater Police Department, Cody Stolfa, a former dental assistant, is expected to plead guilty to 30 felony counts, including sexual battery and related charges stemming from assaults on patients while they were under anesthesia during dental procedures.

Police say the Stillwater dental assistant sexual assault investigation began after law enforcement was alerted to disturbing material discovered on the dark web. Investigators later executed search warrants and seized electronic devices belonging to Stolfa.

Authorities say forensic analysis revealed videos showing at least 16 unconscious patients being sexually assaulted, some of whom were children. Investigators also uncovered more than 10,000 files of child sexual abuse material, significantly expanding the scope of the case.

Court records and arrest affidavits are maintained through the Payne County District Court, where the case is being prosecuted.

State and Federal Agencies Assist in Stillwater Dental Assistant Sexual Assault Case

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) assisted local police with digital evidence analysis and victim identification. OSBI officials say cases involving sedated victims present unique investigative challenges, requiring extensive coordination with medical professionals and forensic experts.

Federal authorities, including the U.S. Department of Justice, have emphasized that crimes involving medical abuse of unconscious patients often carry enhanced penalties due to violations of trust and patient safety.

Charges Reflect Severity of Stillwater Dental Assistant Sexual Assault

Prosecutors say the charges reflect both the number of victims and the abuse of medical authority, which Oklahoma law treats as an aggravating factor. If convicted on all counts, Stolfa faces the possibility of decades in prison.

The case has sent shockwaves through the Stillwater community and prompted renewed calls for stricter oversight and reporting requirements in healthcare and dental facilities statewide.

Victim advocates urge anyone with information or concerns about medical abuse to report it immediately to local law enforcement or through the Oklahoma Attorney General’s Office.
