A state question to allow lawmakers to return to the classroom after serving in the legislature received House approval. The Constitution prohibits former lawmakers from holding a state-paid job for two years after leaving public office.
The House-joint resolution offered by Stillwater Republican John Talley means there would be a state ballot question to change the Oklahoma Constitution to exempt lawmakers who are returning to teach.
