Parts of southwestern Oklahoma are now in extreme drought and are headed for exceptional drought unless rain comes soon. The U.S. Drought monitor and the Oklahoma Mesonet are in agreement that a combination of no rain and extreme temperatures have combined to cause near explosive drought development. Parts of southwest Oklahoma haven’t had a quarter inch of rain in 94 days.
