Sooners Push Toward College Football Playoff Window

All the Sooners must do now to make it into the College Football Playoffs is beat Alabama, Missouri, and LSU. However, those three opponents represent one of the most difficult closing stretches in the country.

The first CFP rankings come out this evening — and OU, now ranked 11th by AP, may be included. Additionally, national analysts say OU remains one of the biggest wildcard variables in the playoff formula.

The Tennessee win reignited major national momentum mentally inside the OU locker room. Therefore, the timing for this CFP reveal aligns perfectly with their current confidence peak.

The First Big Test Comes in Alabama

To stay there, however, the first test comes on the 15th at 2:30 inside Bryant-Denny Stadium. Additionally, college football media expect top tier broadcast showcase positioning for this matchup.

Alabama remains widely viewed as the most structurally complete defense left on the Sooners schedule. Therefore, this becomes a national referendum game — not just a ranking placement game.
