Sooners Defense Dominates as OU Improves to 9–2
The Oklahoma Sooners delivered another strong defensive performance Saturday, shutting down a stubborn Missouri offense in a 17–6 victory. OU overcame a slow first quarter before the offense found enough rhythm to put the game away in the second half.
It marks OU’s third straight win over a ranked team and the team’s fifth ranked victory this season — a resume boost as postseason decisions approach. The win moves the Sooners to 9–2 overall.
Defense Continues to Set the Tone
Missouri never reached the end zone, held to two field goals as the Sooners’ defense controlled the line of scrimmage, limited big plays, and protected the middle of the field effectively. OU’s tackling and coverage consistency were standout components again this week.
OU Remains No. 8 Heading Into LSU Finale
The Sooners remain 8th in both major polls, keeping themselves in the national conversation as the regular season winds down. Next up: OU hosts LSU in Norman for the season finale.
