It’s already illegal for non-citizens to vote in Oklahoma, but state lawmakers adopted Senate Joint Resolution 23 asking voters to amend the Oklahoma Constitution. While supporters say it’s needed to preserve the integrity of elections, critics say it’s a political stunt, fear mongering, and unnecessary. 16 cities and towns in three states allow noncitizens to vote in some elections – none are in Oklahoma.
