Senate Approved Bill to Allow Registered Nurses to Write Prescriptions

State Senate members approved a bill allowing Registered Nurses to write prescriptions. State Senator Brenda Stanley of Midwest City says the bill is needed due to a doctor shortage in rural areas.

A nurse would not be able to write prescriptions for opioids. The bill passed 31 to 15 and will now go back to the House for consideration.
