Walters Submits Formal Resignation Letter
It’s now official — State Superintendent Ryan Walters has submitted his resignation letter to Governor Kevin Stitt.
Transition of Leadership
In the letter, Walters highlighted what he called his top four accomplishments, though he did not elaborate in detail. Walters previously announced he would leave his post to become CEO of the Teacher Freedom Alliance, a conservative group focused on education policy.
Governor Kevin Stitt is expected to appoint an interim superintendent to serve until January 2027.
