Route 66 Prepares For 100-Year Anniversary in 2026

It’s called the “Mother Road” for a reason. Cities along historic Route 66 are gearing up for a big celebration in 2026.

Tara Harris is the executive director of the Route 66 Main Street Program, and she said preparation is already underway.

“Things are happening in Tulsa as well as across the state of Oklahoma, getting ready to celebrate that 100-year anniversary,” Harris said.
