A 40-year-old state agency will be reorganized if a house bill makes it through the legislative process. Representative Mike Osborn says the State Department of Commerce needs changes and denies his bill “guts” the agency.
“…it reorganizes it, so they are more focused on the things we need to be doing,” Osborn said.
The bill requires Commerce to establish a five-year development plan and revise its mission statement. The bill heads to the full house for consideration.
