Remembering the Olympic wins of Jim Thorpe

He won three gold medals, one silver, four bronze and two fourth place victories, all in a matter of a few days at the 1912 Stockholm Olympics.  But it was on Tuesday this week that marked the anniversary of Jim Thorpe winning the 3-day decathlon and setting new world record in the process. In receiving his gold medals Sweden’s King Gustav reportedly told Thorpe, You sir are the Greatest Athlete in the world.  Jim Thorpe simply replied, Thanks King.
