Disturbing Scene Leads to Arrest
A Ponca City man faces animal cruelty charges after police say he repeatedly punched a deer that had been hit by a car.
Officers say 38-year-old Johnny Seal appeared intoxicated when they arrived.
Seal told police he was “trying to put the animal out of its misery.”
Struggle During Arrest
Police say Seal resisted arrest, tried to break a patrol car window, and attacked officers at the jail. He now faces multiple charges including public intoxication, assault, and cruelty to animals.
The injured deer was later removed by authorities. Police called the incident one of the more “bizarre” cases they’ve handled this year.
