PepsiCo To Lay Off 184 Tulsa Warehouse Workers During Distribution Transition
PepsiCo will permanently eliminate 184 warehouse jobs at its Tulsa distribution facility later this year as the company shifts its warehouse operations to a third-party logistics provider.
The workforce reduction affects employees at PepsiCo's facility at 510 W. Skelly Drive and is scheduled to take effect Nov. 15, 2026, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) filing submitted to the state.
PepsiCo Tulsa Layoffs Affect Warehouse Operations
According to the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission's WARN notices, PepsiCo is permanently laying off 184 warehouse employees as part of a restructuring of its local distribution network.
The affected positions include warehouse workers, forklift operators, inventory control specialists, checkers and supervisors.
While warehouse and distribution operations at the Skelly Drive facility will cease, PepsiCo said its beverage bottling and manufacturing operations will continue at the Tulsa plant.
The company is transferring warehouse and regional distribution responsibilities to a new Tulsa-area facility that will be operated by a third-party logistics provider.
Employees Will Receive Transition Assistance
PepsiCo said all affected employees have already been notified of the upcoming layoffs.
According to the company's WARN filing, employees will continue receiving their regular pay and benefits through their final day of employment on Nov. 15.
The company is also providing information about open positions within PepsiCo for employees interested in remaining with the company.
In addition, PepsiCo said it is assisting workers who wish to pursue employment with the third-party logistics provider that will assume warehouse operations.
The filing also states that the affected employees are not represented by a union and do not have bumping rights, meaning they cannot displace less-senior employees to retain employment.
Manufacturing Operations Will Remain In Tulsa
Although the warehouse will close, PepsiCo emphasized that beverage production at the Tulsa facility will remain operational.
The plant, located near Interstate 44 and U.S. Highway 75, will continue manufacturing PepsiCo beverage products while the company's warehousing and distribution functions move to the new off-site logistics center.
The U.S. Department of Labor's WARN Act requires employers meeting certain thresholds to provide advance notice before large layoffs or facility closures, giving employees and workforce agencies time to prepare for the transition.
