Forty-nine state agency directors are receiving pay raises of at least $10,000 more. Tony DeSha, the executive director of the Oklahoma Public Employees Association, says high-level employees are being paid well. “However, when you look at mid-level and low-level staff members, they are doing the exact opposite,” DeSha said. “We got data from 2023 that showed that 57 percent of Oklahoma State employees are below their market range.”
