Parental Choice Tax Credit Applications Open

Applications are now open for Oklahoma families interested in the parental choice tax credit program.

The program provides refundable tax credits ranging from $5,000 to $7,500 to help cover private school tuition and other educational expenses.

Families can apply through June 15, according to the Oklahoma Tax Commission.

Parental Choice Tax Credit Nears Cap

The parental choice tax credit program is expected to reach its $250 million cap this year.

That milestone is prompting discussions among lawmakers about potentially increasing funding and expanding access, according to the Oklahoma State Legislature.

Eligibility Based on Income

Eligibility for the parental choice tax credit is currently based on household income levels.

Officials say the credits can be applied toward tuition, fees, and other approved educational expenses at participating schools, according to the Oklahoma State Department of Education.
