OU and OSU softball teams begin conference tournament play
The postseason begins today for both major Oklahoma programs as the OU softball team and OSU softball team open conference tournament competition.
The Oklahoma State Cowgirls begin play this afternoon in the Big 12 Softball Tournament at Devon Park in Oklahoma City, while the top-ranked Oklahoma Sooners take the field tonight in the SEC Softball Tournament in Kentucky.
Both tournaments follow a single-elimination format with semifinal spots on the line.
OSU softball team opens Big 12 Tournament in Oklahoma City
The OSU softball team enters the Big 12 Tournament as the No. 2 seed after finishing the regular season strong.
The Cowgirls, now 37-14 overall, won 20 of their final 24 regular-season games heading into postseason play.
Oklahoma State will face No. 7 seed Utah today at 5 p.m. at Devon Park in Oklahoma City.
The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
The Big 12 Conference tournament is being held this week at Devon Park, home of the Women’s College World Series.
OU softball team begins first SEC Tournament appearance
The OU softball team enters tonight’s matchup as the No. 1 team in the nation and the top seed in the SEC Softball Tournament.
The Sooners will face No. 9 seed Georgia at 7 p.m. at John Cropp Stadium in Lexington, Kentucky.
Oklahoma enters postseason play with a 48-7 record after winning the SEC regular-season title during the program’s first season in the conference.
