Oklahoma State Board of Agriculture appointment announced
The Oklahoma State Board of Agriculture appointment has been announced by Governor Kevin Stitt, naming a new representative for District 1.

State leaders say the appointment reflects a continued focus on strengthening Oklahoma’s agricultural leadership and economy.

The Oklahoma State Board of Agriculture appointment brings a producer with deep agricultural roots to the role.
Schnaithman graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2017 with a degree in Agricultural Economics before returning home to work in his family’s farming and ranching operation.
He currently farms alongside his brother and father, continuing a multi-generational agricultural legacy.
Agricultural policy and industry oversight in the state are supported by agencies like the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry, which works closely with the board.
Governor Stitt praises leadership and experience
Governor Stitt emphasized Schnaithman’s firsthand experience in agriculture as a key factor in the appointment.
“Tyler knows Oklahoma agriculture because he lives it every day,” Stitt said. “He understands the importance of protecting our agricultural economy.”
Schnaithman also expressed appreciation for the opportunity to serve.
“As a 5th generation producer, I’ve always been extremely passionate about agriculture and its future,” he said.
Agricultural leadership and economic development are also supported nationally by organizations like the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).
Appointment reflects focus on future of agriculture
The Oklahoma State Board of Agriculture appointment comes as the state continues to prioritize its role as a leading agricultural producer.
The board consists of five members appointed by the governor and confirmed by the Senate, helping guide policy and oversight for the industry.
Schnaithman will succeed Joe Farris in the role and represent northwest Oklahoma.
Agricultural advocacy and industry support are also promoted by groups like the American Farm Bureau Federation, which works to support farmers nationwide.
Officials say the appointment reinforces Oklahoma’s commitment to maintaining its position as a Top 10 agriculture state.
