The change this weekend to daylight savings time could be permanent in Oklahoma if one state senator gets his way. Tahlequah Senator Blake “Cowboy” Stephens authored Senate Bill 1200, which has been introduced before, but he says it might have a chance this session.
Nineteen other states have passed similar laws. Despite the measures passed in other states, those laws would not go into effect until a federal law is passed. The Sunshine Protection Act, which has been held up in Congress for years, could trigger the state laws to be enacted.
