Oklahoma’s reputation for extreme weather held true again in 2025, according to new data released by the Oklahoma Mesonet.
Hottest and Coldest Temperatures Oklahoma Mesonet Recorded
The coldest temperature of the year was recorded in Beaver, where the thermometer dropped to 17.2 degrees. Meanwhile, the hottest temperature was measured in Hooker, which reached 110.8 degrees, underscoring the wide temperature swings seen across the state.
Rainfall and Heat Records in Southwest Oklahoma
In the southwest, Grandfield recorded the highest single-day rainfall total of the year with 6.5 inches. The town also logged the most days above 100 degrees, totaling 23 triple-digit days during 2025.
Powerful Wind Gusts
High winds were another defining feature of the year. The strongest wind gust recorded by the Mesonet reached 99.2 miles per hour in Camargo, highlighting the persistent wind risks Oklahomans face during severe weather seasons.
Mesonet officials say the data reinforces the importance of Oklahoma’s statewide weather monitoring system, which provides real-time information used by emergency managers, forecasters, farmers, and residents across the state.
