Oklahoma Memorial Day Weekend Events Bring Music, Festivals And Lake Fun
From live lakefront music at Lake Tenkiller to packed street festivals in Oklahoma City and Tulsa, this year’s Oklahoma Memorial Day weekend events are expected to draw thousands across the state.
Communities throughout Oklahoma are preparing for one of the busiest holiday weekends of the year with concerts, patio crawls, music festivals, and outdoor entertainment.
While metro areas focus on large-scale nightlife and festival crowds, many visitors are also heading to northeast Oklahoma for a more laid-back lake atmosphere.
The growing lineup of Oklahoma Memorial Day weekend events includes live music, Red Dirt performances, outdoor food venues, and holiday-themed gatherings stretching from Cookson to downtown Oklahoma City.
Lake Tenkiller Hosts Holiday Music And Lakefront Fun
One of the most popular destinations for Oklahoma Memorial Day weekend events remains Lake Tenkiller and the surrounding Cookson and Tahlequah areas.
The Deck at Cookson Village is expected to serve as one of the lake’s busiest holiday hubs with outdoor live music, drinks, and lakefront patio crowds throughout the weekend.
Nearby, Boat Bar and Grill in Park Hill is also reopening for the summer season near the floating “Tenkiller Thriller” obstacle course.
Music fans can also head north to the Illinois River Jam near Tahlequah.
According to regional festival organizers, the grassroots Americana and Red Dirt event will feature artists including Jared Tyler, Travis Linville, and Samantha Crain.
Oklahoma City Brings Major Festival Crowds
The Oklahoma City metro is preparing for some of the state’s largest Oklahoma Memorial Day weekend events.
Truck Yard in downtown Oklahoma City plans to host an all-weekend outdoor party featuring food trucks, drink specials, and live entertainment.
Meanwhile, the popular Paseo Arts Festival returns with live performances, outdoor vendors, restaurants, and art displays across the historic Paseo Arts District.
Music fans can also attend the OKC Memorial Day Weekend Music Festival at Remington Park Festival Grounds.
According to event organizers, R&B artists Keyshia Cole and Tyrese are scheduled to headline the Sunday night event.
Tulsa Nightlife Districts Prepare For Holiday Crowds
Tulsa nightlife areas are also preparing for large turnout numbers during the holiday weekend.
The Blue Dome District Patio Hop will feature block-party style specials and entertainment throughout Tulsa’s downtown nightlife district.
Meanwhile, venues throughout the Tulsa Arts District are coordinating live music performances as part of “The Hunt for Red Dirt.”
According to local venue organizers, locations including Cain’s Ballroom and Soundpony will host regional singer-songwriters and live music acts throughout the weekend.
Officials are encouraging visitors attending Oklahoma Memorial Day weekend events to plan transportation ahead of time and remain mindful of increased holiday traffic across the state.
