Oklahoma Marijuana Trafficking Ring Dismantled in Multi-Agency Arrests

An Oklahoma marijuana trafficking operation with international ties has been dismantled following a coordinated state and federal investigation.

Attorney General Gentner Drummond announced the arrest of Hao Chen and 19 others accused of organizing and operating an illegal marijuana network.

Investigators say the operation was headquartered in Oklahoma but moved large sums of cash to New York State and China, raising concerns about international money laundering.

The case involved cooperation between the Oklahoma Attorney General’s Office, federal law enforcement agencies, and local task forces.

Illegal grows targeted statewide

Authorities say the arrests are part of an ongoing effort to dismantle illegal marijuana operations exploiting Oklahoma’s licensing system.

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration has repeatedly warned about organized criminal groups operating illicit grows across the region.

Prosecutions expected to continue

Drummond says additional arrests and asset seizures could follow as investigators continue tracing financial records.
