Oklahoma drivers must comply with the new medical marijuana open container law in Oklahoma vehicles — or risk being charged with an open container violation.

State Senator Darrell Weaver of Moore confirms the law bans unsealed medical marijuana products from being transported in the front seat of a vehicle. Passengers cannot consume marijuana products while in the vehicle either.

This is now treated the same way alcohol open container rules have historically functioned in Oklahoma. If products are sealed, packaged properly, and stored out of driver/passenger access — they are allowed. If they are accessible — it becomes a legal violation.
