Utility officials say the crews are assisting with power restoration, damage assessment, and infrastructure repairs. Ice accumulation damaged power lines, substations, and poles across multiple counties.
The Oklahoma Corporation Commission notes that mutual aid agreements allow states to share resources during large-scale emergencies.
Crews expected to remain for a week
Officials say the Oklahoma crews are expected to remain in Mississippi for approximately one week, depending on weather conditions and repair progress.
