Oklahoma Fire Watch Update: Red Flag Warning Continues
An Oklahoma fire watch update shows much of the state remains under a Red Flag Warning as strong winds, low humidity, and drought conditions continue to fuel wildfire risk.
The Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management has activated the State Emergency Operations Center at Level 2 to coordinate response efforts.
Active Fires and Ongoing Risk
Several fires remain active across the state, including in Jackson, Love, Beckham, and Custer counties. Some have burned thousands of acres but are partially contained.
Officials with the Oklahoma Forestry Services warn conditions remain volatile, especially in western and southwestern Oklahoma.
Burn Bans and Safety
At least a dozen counties remain under burn bans, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Food and Forestry.
All outdoor burning is prohibited as fire danger remains high.
Residents are urged to stay alert, avoid sparks, and report damage at damage.ok.gov.
