Woods’ Execution Postponed
The state’s execution schedule is in limbo after attorneys for Tremane Woods withdrew from his case due to a conflict of interest. Woods had been scheduled for execution next month.
Simpson Could Move Ahead in Line
Attorney General Gentner Drummond initially sought to delay Woods’ execution but has now asked the courts to move forward with 44-year-old Kendrick Simpson’s execution instead. Simpson’s execution date has not yet been set.
The reshuffling leaves questions about the future of Oklahoma’s execution calendar, which has already faced delays, court challenges, and international scrutiny.
