Oklahoma City Severe Storm Damage Reported

Strong storms moved across central Oklahoma Tuesday, prompting tornado sirens throughout the metro and causing Oklahoma City severe storm damage.

Officials with the National Weather Service confirmed two tornadoes as the storm system moved through parts of the state.

Large hail was also reported across the Oklahoma City metro, damaging vehicles and property in several areas as storms pushed through the region.

Storms Impact Oklahoma City Events

The severe weather also disrupted events in the metro.

During the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association state high school basketball tournament at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds, players and fans were forced to seek shelter because of tornado warnings.

Officials temporarily halted tournament activities until the warnings expired.

Damage Reported in Southern Oklahoma

Communities in southern Oklahoma also reported significant impacts from the storm system.

Officials say extensive damage has been reported in Marietta Public Schools, leading to class cancellations while crews assess the situation.

While there has been no confirmed tornado in Love County, local officials say several homes and structures were damaged during the storms as emergency crews continue evaluating the Oklahoma City severe storm damage across the region.
