Noble, OK-Dog Attack Leaves Young Oklahoma boy Injured
A four-year-old Oklahoma boy from Noble is recovering after being severely mauled by a dog that his family had adopted only two days earlier. The attack happened inside the family’s home, and relatives say the child suffered multiple injuries before the animal could be restrained.
Family Blames Shelter
The boy’s family claims the Noble Animal Shelter misrepresented the dog’s behavior. They allege staff assured them the dog was safe around children.
“The shelter lied about the dog’s temperament,” one family member said. “We never would have brought this animal into our home otherwise.”
Shelter Says Dog Showed No Signs of Aggression
In response, the Noble Animal Shelter confirmed the dog had been adopted from its facility but defended its adoption process.
“The animal never displayed aggressive tendencies while in our care,” a shelter spokesperson said. “We evaluate each dog before adoption, but behaviors can change in different environments.”
Growing Concerns Over Shelter Transparency
The case raises questions about how shelters evaluate and disclose animal behavior, particularly as more Oklahomans adopt pets from overburdened facilities. Animal advocates urge families to be cautious, introduce new pets slowly, and never leave children unsupervised around unfamiliar dogs.
