OBI Thunder playoff giveaway encourages blood donations

The OBI Thunder playoff giveaway is giving Oklahomans a chance to support a life-saving cause while potentially scoring premium seats to an NBA playoff game.

The Our Blood Institute (OBI) is running its “Six for #6” promotion through April 22, 2026, automatically entering donors into a drawing for exclusive OKC Thunder playoff packages.

Officials say the campaign is designed to boost blood donations while offering a high-profile incentive tied to one of Oklahoma’s most popular teams.

OBI Thunder playoff giveaway offers premium prize packages

The OBI Thunder playoff giveaway includes six prize packages, each featuring a premium game-day experience.

Winners will receive two lower-level, center-court tickets to an upcoming Oklahoma City Thunder playoff game, along with a hotel stay and a gas card to assist with travel.

Organizers say at least one winner will be selected each day during the promotion period.

Blood donation programs like those run by the Our Blood Institute play a critical role in maintaining emergency and hospital blood supplies across the region.

Donation process supports patients across Oklahoma

Officials emphasize that donating blood is a simple process that can have a major impact.

A typical donation takes about an hour, and one donation can help save up to three lives, according to medical standards.

Blood collection and distribution practices are guided nationally by organizations like the American Red Cross, which helps set safety and donation protocols.

Donors can give blood at any OBI donor center or at mobile drives scheduled throughout the state during the campaign.

Additional incentives encourage participation

In addition to the playoff ticket opportunity, donors who give between April 1 and May 31 will receive a limited-edition Route 66 T-shirt.

Appointments can be scheduled through the Our Blood Institute website or by phone, with officials encouraging residents to participate as demand for blood remains steady.

Healthcare systems rely on organizations like the AABB (Association for the Advancement of Blood & Biotherapies) to help maintain standards for blood donation and transfusion practices.

Officials say the campaign combines community support with a unique opportunity to experience NBA playoff basketball in Oklahoma City.
