Ninnekah public schools agrees to pay $7.5M

A record settlement for abuse cases involving an Oklahoma School District. Ninnekah public school has agreed to pay 7.5 million dollars involving a federal sexual abuse lawsuit. The suit was filed by 14 women and girls who were sexually abused by their basketball coach. Ronald Akins pleaded guilty to criminal charges in 2023. The lawsuit claims the abuse went on for years and school district leaders turned a blind eye.
