Mike Gundy, OSU Part Ways After 20 Seasons
A Storied Career Ends in Disappointment
After two major losses this season and a disappointing 2024 campaign, Oklahoma State University and longtime head coach Mike Gundy agreed it was time to part ways.
Mike Gundy Legacy of the Winningest OSU Coach
Gundy, who began as a Cowboy quarterback in the late 1980s alongside Barry Sanders and Thurman Thomas, leaves as the program’s winningest coach. His 2025 salary was $6.7 million. His buyout would have been $15 million if fired without cause before 2027.
Search for Replacement Underway
The university has already launched a search for his successor.
