
A researcher at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation finds a link between Alzheimer’s disease and the brain’s so-called ‘feel good’ chemical called Dopamine. OMRF officials believe the discovery by Dr. Mike Beckstead could someday provide a new pathway to treat and even prevent the neurological disease. Nearly 7 million Americans live with the deadly memory-robbing disease with the figure projected to grow to more than 12 million by 2050.
