Lawmakers Advance the Emerson Kate Cole Act

With a vote of 8 to 0 the House Education Oversight committee advances the Emerson Kate Cole Act. SB331 requires school employees to call 911 as soon as possible, when Epinephrine has been administered on campus. The bill also requires districts to notify the parent or legal guardian of the students’ possible allergic reaction. The bill heads to the House Common Education Committee for consideration.
