Jacie Hoyt Contract Extension Keeps Oklahoma State Women's Basketball Coach Through 2030-31
Oklahoma State women's basketball coach Jacie Hoyt has signed a contract extension that will keep her in Stillwater through the 2030-31 season after leading the Cowgirls to three NCAA Tournament appearances in four years. The new agreement comes after another 24-win season and Oklahoma State's first NCAA Tournament victory since 2021.
The Jacie Hoyt contract extension gives Oklahoma State long-term stability during one of the strongest stretches in Cowgirl Basketball history. OSU has won 84 games during Hoyt's four seasons, including a program-record 49 victories over the past two years, while becoming a consistent contender near the top of the Big 12.
Jacie Hoyt Contract Extension Follows Back-to-Back NCAA Tournament Runs
Hoyt has taken Oklahoma State to the NCAA Tournament in three of her first four seasons, including consecutive appearances in 2025 and 2026.
Those back-to-back berths marked the first time the Cowgirls reached the tournament in consecutive seasons since 2015 and 2016.
Oklahoma State advanced beyond the opening round this past season with an 82-68 victory over Princeton, giving the program its first NCAA Tournament win since 2021. The Cowgirls' season ended in the second round with an 87-68 loss to eventual national champion UCLA.
The Cowgirls also established a school scoring record by averaging 81.1 points per game.
"Coach Hoyt has successfully guided our program through the changing landscape of college basketball and has continued to build Cowgirl Basketball into one that contends for conference championships and consistently plays and advances in the NCAA Tournament," OSU Athletic Director Chad Weiberg said.
Weiberg said the university is excited about both the upcoming season and the program's future under Hoyt.
Hoyt's official Oklahoma State coaching profile reflects a tenure that has included 10 victories over AP Top 25 opponents and three top-four Big 12 finishes since she arrived in Stillwater.
Cowgirls Have Won 84 Games During Hoyt's Four Seasons
One of the clearest signs of Oklahoma State's resurgence has been its performance inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.
The Cowgirls are 57-10 at home during Hoyt's tenure, winning more than 85% of their games in Stillwater.
Her 2024-25 team produced one of the best seasons in program history.
OSU won 25 games, the third-highest single-season total in school history, while setting a program record with 14 Big 12 victories. The Cowgirls climbed to No. 17 in the AP Top 25, their highest ranking since 2016.
Hoyt was subsequently selected as a finalist for the Women's Basketball Coaches Association National Coach of the Year.
Player development has accompanied the team success.
Oklahoma State has produced two honorable mention All-America performers and 11 All-Big 12 selections during Hoyt's four seasons. Her players have also earned 13 Academic All-Big 12 selections.
Among the players returning for 2026-27 is Stailee Heard, a three-time All-Big 12 performer who has developed into one of the centerpieces of the program. Heard's official OSU player profile details a career that has made her one of the Big 12's most productive players.
"I'm incredibly proud of the progress we've made as a program, but I've never believed more in what we're building than I do right now," Hoyt said. "The best part is knowing we're not finished."
No. 1 Transfer Class Sets Stage for 2026-27 Cowgirl Basketball Season
Oklahoma State followed its 24-win season by making another significant move in the transfer portal.
Hoyt and her staff assembled the nation's No. 1-ranked transfer class while retaining Heard, giving the Cowgirls another rebuilt roster designed to compete immediately in the Big 12.
That roster construction has become increasingly important in college basketball as the transfer portal and player movement have dramatically shortened the traditional timeline for building and maintaining successful programs.
Hoyt credited Oklahoma State administrators, players, coaches, staff members and fans for helping establish the program's momentum.
"Stillwater has become a home for me and my family, and I'll never take for granted the trust and belief that has been placed in me by our administration, specifically Chad Weiberg and President Hess," Hoyt said.
"We have more work to do, more memories to make and more history to write. I couldn't be more grateful or excited to keep doing it as a Cowgirl."
The next opportunity begins in less than a month.
Oklahoma State opens Hoyt's fifth season with an exhibition against Langston on October 27 before beginning the regular season against Southern on November 2. Both games will be played at Gallagher-Iba Arena.
