inmate backlog in county jails has grown

Inmates sitting in county jails across the state that are supposed to be in a state prison, has increased dramatically over the last several years. It’s up over 74-percent creating a growing backlog of people stuck in county jails. As of the end of last month, there were over 1-thousand 300 sentenced inmates waiting to be transferred to prison from county lockups.
