Haskell County Burglary and Arson Investigation Leads to Two Arrests in Whitefield
A Haskell County burglary and arson investigation has resulted in two arrests after a residential break-in involving stolen firearms escalated into a suspicious house fire in Whitefield, Oklahoma. The Haskell County Sheriff's Office began investigating Sunday, November 1, after multiple firearms, tools and other personal belongings were reported stolen from a residence in the southeastern Oklahoma community.
Deputies identified two suspects and began recovering stolen property from several locations throughout Haskell County. During that investigation, firefighters responded to a suspicious fire at a residence connected to the case and reported hearing a gunshot nearby. Evidence and witness statements later supported reports that a firearm had been discharged in the area. By early Monday, November 2, investigators had located one suspect hiding inside a building, leading to an admission of involvement in the burglary and intentionally setting the fire.
