Tulsa’s Gilcrease Museum, which is named after a member of the Muscogee Creek nation, is about to return thousands of items to tribal governments. The Museum is returning 64 remains and over a thousand funerary objects to the Osage, Citizen Potawatomi, Eastern Shawnee, Kaw, Miami, Oteo-Missouria, Quapaw, Peoria, Ponca, Sac and fox and Shawnee tribes and nations. Most of the returning items came from Illinois.
